| Challenge |
To provide program management for the design/build of
the primary IT facilities’ infrastructure for the
twenty-six largest airports served by Delta Air Lines,
Inc. |
| Solution |
PMT staff worked closely with the Delta Technology Airport
Renewal Deployment Team to establish the facility scope,
budget, construction standards, schedule and contract
administration in order to develop the technical communications
backbone for the deployment of over 20,000 PC workstations
within a 16 month period. PM Technologies assembled a
dedicated staff of twenty-two project managers and support
staff that led the planning and implementation program
for all main communication rooms, wiring closets and conveyance
for the copper and fiber optic cable distribution. PMT
provided the expertise in technical communications facilities
implementation and client management necessary to meet
the time and budgetary constraints placed upon the project.
PMT managed the $30 million facility budget and assisted
Delta in successfully deploying to the new IT platform
two months ahead of the Y2K installation target date.
