Manheim

The Challenge

To consolidate and refresh over 60 Linux servers for Manheim Technology to ensure continued supportability and increased efficiency for Manheim Business Units.

The Solution

PM Technologies provided Project Management and Engineering services to manage the Manheim Linux Server Refresh Project. This effort included discovery of the applications on the legacy systems as well as the planning and migration of the applications to the new environment. PMT engineering staff performed installation, configuration, and testing of the new Linux servers in accordance with installation guidelines created by the Manheim Linux team. PMT worked directly with application owners to perform UAT and ensure functionality.

The Impact

Manheim received a state of the art Linux environment with documented server specifications and application capabilities. Additionally, the discovery performed on each of the migrated servers allowed Manheim resources to identify legacy systems that could be decommissioned. The effort provided a substantial increase in overall efficiency, a smaller server footprint, and cost saving for Manheim Technology.
