The Challenge

To improve Delta Air Lines Worldwide Headquarters office space plan to align with the strategic objectives of the merger with Northwest Airlines.

The Solution

PM Technologies provided Project Management expertise to plan and implement the strategic alignment of approximately 3000 employees and 50 business groups to improve space utilization within Delta’s Worldwide Headquarters. The consolidation was planned in accordance with the Northwest Airlines merger facilities plan. The project included the renovation of 400,000 sf and was completed in 15 months while maintaining full capabilities for Delta operations, services and staff.

The Impact

The project enabled Delta to integrate Delta and Northwest business units in a timely and efficient manner, improving utilization while placing minimal impact on existing operations. The project also enabled Delta to sell surplus properties generating $30M and reduce long term operating costs by $1M annually.
