Lucent NetworkCare Professional Services engaged
PMT staff to provide project management for engineering,
network electronics and Systimax wiring installation
for the network infrastructure upgrade. Using a four-phased
approach, the team successfully planned, designed and
implemented a state-of-the-art hierarchical data network,
connecting over 6,000 users at thirty different nationwide
locations. This included partnering with Cisco Systems,
PacBell Network Integration Services, and Telecom Distribution
Services Company. The project included planning and
implementation of new network electronics and network
management hardware and software, as well as installation
of a complete new wiring infrastructure including fiber
and Cat5 wiring. PMT staff successfully completed the
implementation of this $15 million, complex data network
project on time and on budget without any disruption
of service for this major publisher. This network will
enable LA Times to streamline the production process
and cut operating expenses. |
