| Challenge |
To manage the fast-track design, construction and start-up
of major equipment as a part of a $300 million, 12,000
mile fiber optic cable upgrade to position metropolitan
Atlanta at the leading edge of the information super-highway |
| Solution |
PMT staff worked with the Director of the Upgrade
and six Project Coordinators to develop a project management
system for establishing and monitoring site acquisition
and design and construction schedules. PMT staff identified
and tracked critical action items and developed an overall
project monitoring system for planned vs. actual daily
cable and power node installations. Specific services
included the construction management of both Super Headend
Buildings and forty-one Distribution Hub Buildings.
PMTs’ Project Management System was utilized by MediaOne
to track project performance and manage the project
to successful completion. |
