THE CHALLENGES

PM Technologies worked with the Toronto Airport Authority and SITA in order to deploy automated passenger processing systems for passenger handling, baggage, flight control and Voice over IP (VoIP) for the new terminal. The systems included all of the network and PC hardware, as well as software development and integration.

The program needed to be completed in a working airport environment where operations and safety could not be disrupted or compromised.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Our team provided on site project management resources to develop a Project Management Office (PMO) for this complex, multi-year project. Through the PMO, PMT managed provisioning, installation and user acceptance testing of all hardware and software. The PMT team managed the systems integration and testing of the passenger processing systems with Flight Information Display Systems (FIDS), VoIP and baggage handling systems. Our team handled the communications for the airline system integration of the project, managing the new WAN deployment, systems integration and testing for the airlines.

PMT worked closely with multiple construction companies to enable systems deployment to commence as soon as construction areas were ready. This close planning and integration ensured an on time opening of the new terminal.
