PMT staff was responsible developing the overall
project plan for the roll-out of network equipment,
WAN circuits, servers and gateways required for USAirways
connectivity to Sabre. PMT staff worked closely with
Sabre personnel to plan the deployment and develop web-based
tools for tracking progress around the world. Microsoft
Project was utilized along with a web-enabled database
that was updated with project status by personnel installing
equipment in the field. This enabled Project executives
to have the latest up-to-date status of cutover readiness.
PMT staff also managed multiple aspects for the SABRE
Host re-configuration and testing activities prior to
cutover.
PMT staff worked closely with Sabre to plan and successfully
execute the systems cutover in which all USAirway sites
worldwide were disconnected from the existing CRS, re-connected
to the Sabre CRS and all passenger and fight data was
transferred from the USAirways CRS Mainframe to the
SABRE CRS Mainframe with an eight hour overnight period
with minimal disruption to worldwide operations. |
