PMT staff conducted an assessment of the project
management function within Tufts Health Plan’s IS department.
Utilizing the best practices of the organization and
standards developed by the Project Management Institute
(PMI), a standard methodology was established throughout
the organization. A Project Management Office (PMO)
was established to provide training, coaching and mentoring
to project managers.
PMT staff created a project management structure where
projects receive buy-in from senior leadership, are
aligned with the strategic direction of the organization,
and will end on-time and within budget. As a result,
over 200 project managers began utilizing a skills-based
approach applying standards and employing tools based
on their level of experience, while creating a minimum
level of competency and standardization throughout the
organization. |
