THE CHALLENGES and RESULTS
Terminal 5 Modernization and PBB
Over six years, PM Technologies (PMT) worked in conjunction with Delta Air Lines, Inc. to coordinate the renovation of Terminal 5 at Los Angeles International Airport. This project was ongoing in an active airport environment. CA Green Law and seismic enhancements were incorporated into the program. PMT assisted with an internally funded Delta One and Sky Club Refresh on the terminal as well as the 35 major terminal enabling projects that included baggage systems, FIS, PBB, GSE, Lobby renovations, switchgear, IT and other initiatives. T5 had four phases of PBB, a total of 13 PBB in an on-going operational environment. Total project budget $300+M
Terminal 2,3 5 & T6 Holdrooms/PBB
At the time of the operations of Delta Air Lines in Terminal 5 (additionally 2-3 and 6), the need for replacing of the legacy system boarding bridges and other ancillary components on the apron were identified. PMT was involved in managing and coordinating the project. The work consisted of executing surveys, gate fits, GSE, bridge lead times, gate shutdowns, flight traffic coordination, strict completion schedules, and acquisition packages. The systems components involved 400Hz, pre-conditioned air, FLS tie-ins, striping, and minor electrical upgrades. Additionally, PMT was responsible for managing upgrades to the customer experience in both the coordination with Westfield concessions and improvements to hold-rooms. All of the above activities were carefully coordinated with the airlines peak travel time to limit the impact to operations.
